The energy supply systems of navigation
aids have to function reliably duringlong time without
any maintenance. To achieve this, the
system has to keep the batteries as full as possible
while not overcharge them. The overcharging
would lead to boiling out of the electrolyt and thus,
to the damage of the batteries. Therefore,
EKTA has taken special efforts to find out the most
efficient methods of charging the batteries
and, as a result, the battery charger E1402
has been developed
Features
-
Charging of 12V NiCd and/or Pb batteries.
Charging current up to 3A
-
Using mains supply of 220V 50Hz as energy
source
-
Automatic control of charging current,
depending on the environment temperature and on the charge rate of
the batteries
-
Protection of the batteries against overcharging
and overload
-
Protection of the power supply system
against the lightning discharges and other noise by dedicated input filters
(optional)
-
Hermetic design, case filled with nitrogen
gas
-
If the current 3A is not sufficient, an
additional 3A current generator E143 may be added to the charger. The generator
E143 does not include the current regulator and thus, it is cheaper
